HazardNet is only as good as the data underneath it. This page lists every input, who produces it, how often it updates, what it costs the user (nothing) and what its licence requires of anyone republishing it.
Environmental inputs
Sentinel-1 GRD, C-band SAR (VV/VH) — ESA Copernicus, accessed through Google Earth Engine. All-weather surface backscatter; the primary flood and surface-water signal. Revisit of roughly 6–12 days at Bangladesh latitudes, depending on the constellation and orbit.
Sentinel-2 MSI, Level-2A surface reflectance — ESA Copernicus, via Google Earth Engine. Vegetation and water indices (NDVI, NDWI) for drought and crop stress. 5-day nominal revisit, cloud-limited during the monsoon.
ERA5-Land hourly reanalysis — ECMWF, via the Copernicus Climate Data Store / Earth Engine. Temperature (mean, max, min), dewpoint, soil water at multiple depths, solar radiation, wind. Complete spatial coverage with a latency of several days for the most recent hours.
Open-Meteo deterministic forecast — Open-Meteo (CC-BY 4.0). Daily temperature, precipitation, wind, dewpoint, radiation and evapotranspiration for the lead-time window, up to about 16 days.
HDX COD-AB administrative boundaries — OCHA / HDX. The 64-district (ADM2) and 507-unit (ADM3: 495 upazilas plus 12 city corporations) geometry that every forecast is attached to (ADR 0005).
OpenStreetMap exposure overlay — OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Roads, bridges and other infrastructure intersecting a hazard footprint, used for the exposure view (ADR 0006).
Official warning context
HazardNet links out to the institutions that carry legal responsibility for warnings in Bangladesh. Their bulletins always take precedence over anything shown here:
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) — weather forecasts, cyclone signals, heat and cold alerts.
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) — river-level and flood bulletins.
Department of Disaster Management (DDM) — national disaster directives and shelter information.

Attribution and licence notes for reusers
Copernicus data (Sentinel-1/2, ERA5-Land) is free to use with attribution to the European Union's Copernicus programme and ESA/ECMWF as appropriate.
Open-Meteo data is CC-BY 4.0: attribute Open-Meteo when republishing derived values.
OpenStreetMap data is ODbL: derived databases must carry the same licence and attribution.
HazardNet's own code is MIT-licensed; the forecast archive is published as release artifacts with a sha256 manifest so a republication can be traced to an exact run.
What HazardNet adds
The value added is the assembly and the cross-checking: a harmonised 15-channel tensor per unit, one inference pass that produces a comparable severity index across all 64 districts, an independent physics-based severity track beside it, and a confidence bin that tells you whether the two agree.
