District and division coverage

Every district has a page. This is what each one carries and how the divisions roll up.

Coverage

HazardNet covers all 64 districts of Bangladesh, grouped into the 8 divisions: Barisal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Sylhet. The published forecast record is keyed by district, and every district has its own outlook page.

What a district page shows

  • Risk tier: the district's standing risk band.
  • Severity index: the current published severity for the district.
  • Dominant hazard: the hazard class the drivers most resemble right now.
  • Elevation: metres above sea level, the first-order control on flood exposure.
  • Main crop: the agricultural exposure the advisories are written around.

Division roll-ups

Each division page gathers its districts so a regional reader can scan one screen instead of a dozen. The numbers on a division page are the published district records underneath it: nothing is re-scored at the division level.
